Organic Research Priorities-Feedback Request!

The Canadian Organic Research Priority setting process is underway. The Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada, in collaboration with provincial organic associations, are reaching out to our stakeholders to collect feedback to update the 2021 Canadian Organic Research Priorities report.
We know this is a very busy time of year therefore there are two intake periods for submitting feedback.
First intake deadline: Morning of Oct 21st, 2026
Second intake deadline: Morning of Jan 6th, 2027
If you don’t have time to submit your feedback for the first intake period, perhaps you can brainstorm research priorities while you are finishing up seasonal work:)
The updated priorities will help guide decision-making around organic agriculture research at the national level (to support the next Organic Science Cluster) and will also serve as a resource for provincial research priority-setting, and can be used as a guide for researchers in identifying areas of focus and support grant applications to various funding programs.
It is important to ensure prairie priorities are reflected in the updated report, and we welcome your feedback on which priorities remain relevant to the organic sector, as well as any emerging priorities that should be considered. For example: Is there a particular emerging weed problem for you that is not listed on the current priorities? Is there a particular new technology you think should be researched for its application in organic systems?
Please read the instructions on how to complete the form carefully in the word document below, complete the overarching priorities table as well as any other table that is applicable to your operation. Then return the completed form back to me deb@saskorganic.com by one of the deadlines listed above.
SaskOrganics will be consolidating responses into one submission to the OACC on our members behalf, to streamline the process.
Thank you for your consideration in sharing your expertise and perspective!
